Dr. Byron Davies

Black Swan Learning Corp was founded in May 2016 to make improbably powerful learning methods available to everyone. Founder/CEO Dr. Byron Davies is a lifelong learner, having had the privilege of attending Caltech, MIT, and Stanford University, where he earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering.
Eight years ago, at a charter school, Davis' team entered a global contest to design software for teaching essential literacy and arithmetic skills. As finalists, they gained insights that led Davis to collaborate with citizen scientist Judy Ramirez, focusing on re-imagining reading. Together, they created the groundbreaking Black Swan Reading program – a testament to Davis' commitment to revolutionizing education with boundary-pushing solutions.
